Aron Einar Malmquist Gunnarsson is an Icelandic professional footballer from Akureyri. He started his youth football career playing for “Þór Akureyri”. In the year 2006 Aron moved to the Netherlands to play for “AZ Alkmaar”. Two years later he signed a three-year contract with “Coventry City F.C.”. In 2011 he changed to “Cardiff City F.C.” and then prolonged his contract till summer 2018. His international debut for Iceland was on the 2nd of February, 2008 and in 2016 Aron scored his first international goal for Iceland against Latvia.
